Compassionate Mental Health Counseling & Therapy — Serving Nationwide

OCD Therapy in the Bronx and Online

Break Free from the Cycle of Unwanted Thoughts and Rituals

OCD is more than being neat or organized. It is a cycle of intrusive thoughts, images or urges that cause real distress, followed by behaviors or mental rituals that bring brief relief but keep the cycle going. Our bilingual, licensed therapists help you understand how OCD works and build practical tools to loosen its hold, at your pace and without judgment. We offer in-person sessions in the Bronx and online sessions nationwide, 7 days a week, 6 AM to 10 PM.

Signs OCD May Be Affecting You

  • Unwanted thoughts, images or urges that feel intrusive, disturbing or impossible to dismiss
  • Repeating actions such as checking, washing, counting or arranging until it feels “right”
  • Mental rituals, like replaying events, praying or silently reviewing, to cancel a thought
  • Constantly seeking reassurance from others or searching online for certainty
  • Avoiding people, places or objects because they trigger distressing thoughts
  • Spending an hour or more a day on thoughts or rituals, or feeling they interfere with work, school or relationships

Having intrusive thoughts does not make you a bad person. They are a common symptom of OCD and respond well to treatment. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) right away.

HOW THERAPY HELPS

How therapy helps with OCD

Treatment is structured, collaborative and adapted to you.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is the most researched therapy for OCD. Gradually and with your consent, you learn to face feared thoughts or situations without doing the ritual, so the anxiety can rise and fall on its own.

Cognitive and acceptance-based tools

We look at how OCD interprets your thoughts and practice relating to them differently, using cognitive therapy and acceptance-based skills such as mindfulness.

Support for you and your family

OCD often affects loved ones, who may be pulled into rituals or reassurance. We can guide families on how to support you without feeding the cycle.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions before you book.

What is the difference between OCD and being a perfectionist?

Perfectionism is a preference for high standards. OCD involves intrusive thoughts that cause significant distress and compulsions you feel driven to perform, even when you do not want to. A clinician can help tell them apart.

Exposure and Response Prevention is a structured approach in which you gradually face situations that trigger obsessions while resisting the urge to do the compulsion. It is considered a first-line treatment for OCD and is done step by step, never forced.

You share only what you are comfortable with. Therapists who treat OCD have heard many kinds of thoughts and will not judge you. We go at a pace that feels safe.
