Denisse Puello joined the Footprints Team as a Hiring Manager in May of 2022. She is responsible for recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, and maintaining all employees of Footprints. She works to hire our Interns, Limited Permit Holders, and fully-licensed clinicians. Denisse guides our employees through the onboarding process as smoothly as possible. She ensures that our employees are allies of the LGBTQ+ community, and believe in the Footprints mission statement.
Niquae joined the Footprints Team in May of 2022 as the Intake Coordinator. Niquae is responsible for completing the intake process for all of our new clients, and works to assign them to a provider as soon as possible. Niquae answers the phone calls that come to our Main Office line, and is ready to assist clients with any questions or concerns before starting the treatment process.
Crystal Brito joined the Footprints Team in March 2022 as an Administration Support Team member. She supports the Intake Department on a daily basis ensuring all tasks are completed by the end of day. She matches our clients to the best provider possible that matches their preferences and availability. If anyone in our Main Office staff is out, Crystal will fill those shoes to ensure all clients are taken care of appropriately.

I am an Afro-Caribbean woman who resides in Brooklyn. I received my undergraduate degree from The College of New Rochelle, NY and graduate degree in counseling from Alfred University, NY. My passion is to serve underrepresented communities and provide clinical mental health support to adults and adolescents. I am a true believer of resilience, and that any human being is capable of change.

I received my Master’s in Mental Heath Counseling from Tour College in the Fall of 2015. Connecting with clients and supporting them in reaching their goals is my true passion. As a holistic therapist, I’m committed to develop a trusting, positive and healthy rapport in order to facilitate a therapeutic relationship. Thus, my focus and goal as a therapist is to continually work towards a therapeutic alliance towards self-exploration and change.
I obtained my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marist College. I have had experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families with concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress-related disorders, and personality disorders. I believe therapy can be a transformative process, and I provide therapy from a nonjudgmental, client-centered approach utilizing mindfulness-based dialectical behavior therapy, as well as other evidence-based practices.
I believe that as a Mental Health Counselor it is my responsibility to ensure quality service to each and every individual that I work with. I will develop a treatment plan that caters to each individual to achieve the goals that will lead them to a mentally healthier lifestyle. This includes developing healthy coping skills and mechanisms that will allow them to take on the world without taking on any burdens that come with it.
My therapist style is building a trusting relationship with you, with empathy and support. I really enjoy learning and understanding you as a person as it takes a lot of courage to come to therapy. My background in teaching Pilates and dance brought me to realize how important the mind is and how we think affects our behaviors. I am here to help you find the answers you need within yourself.
I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral perspective where clients are assisted in self-acceptance and growth. I am here to provide judgment free listening, encouragement to explore your feelings, and working together towards improving your emotional well-being.
I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College in 2019. I utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and psychotherapy. I am experienced in the treatment of a broad range of issues such as, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence, and anger management. My goal is to create a safe space for my clients to explore issues they may be facing in any area of their life.
I have been a therapist for over 10 years, working with an array of clients, who were all unique and special in their own right. I have conducted individual and group counseling sessions surrounding depression and anxiety, loss and abandonment, domestic violence and abuse, etc. Although I use a person-centered and/or psychodynamic approach, I always try to meet my clients where they are and worked from a strengths perspective, because I believe that everyone has the potential to make changes.
As a Mental Health Counselor, my goal is to bridge the gap between marginalized communities and mental health disparities. I have experience working with adults within the BIPOC community, and with clients of diverse cultural backgrounds too. My main theoretical approaches for working with clients are Existentialism and Person-Centered. Building rapport and providing a brave space for clients; truly strengthens the therapeutic-alliance.
Adapting to adversity in life can be a challenge, but it is not impossible. As your clinician, I am determined to help you navigate through life and regain your resilience. I have worked with people who have struggled with various mental health concerns including (but not limited to) depression and anxiety, I have experience in all areas of mental health, and by using multiple Cognitive Behavioral techniques. I am confident
that you will gain the coping skills necessary.
I chose to go into the mental health field through having a personal experience with a counselor that changed my life. I benefited greatly from the power of a therapeutic relationship and seek to be that positive force for others. One of my goals as a counselor is to embody Carl Rogers’ person-centered stance of offering unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and empathy to all clients. I will work with you to overcome issues, work towards your goals, and heal relational conflicts.
