As a bilingual Marriage and Family therapist, I work with many members of marginalized communities to talk about their unique experiences and to break down barriers and stigma around mental health. When a client’s belief’s do not align with their cultural or family’s beliefs it can create distress, anxiety, and other challenging emotions. I help youth, adults, and couples explore issues important to them and to reexamine cultural beliefs, values, and personal ideology.
I obtained my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and CASAC (substance abuse counseling) from Long Island University. I enjoy working in the helping field knowing that I can be a factor of positivity in a person's life. I have experience working with adults and adolescents experiencing different mental health symptoms such as anxiety, depression, symptoms related to trauma, grief, pregnancy, infertility, miscarriage, and postpartum.
I have over 3 years of counseling experience. I work with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, stress and relationship issues. Whatever the concern, the commonality is that life has challenges and sometimes we need help to overcome them. My approach and focus is on you and how best to help you. As we work together, you'll see my counseling style is warm, direct, interpersonal, supportive, and relatable. You will always experience respect and compassion.
As a Mental Health Counselor, my aim is to support my clients emotionally and meet them where they are on their journey of self-discovery and healing. My previous experiences working with adults, children and teens have allowed me to have a range of experiences. I have worked with clients who have been impacted by Trauma, substance use related issues, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and other personality disorders and more.
I find that people are often not aware of their strengths; with this in mind, I like to focus and build on them. I can confidently tell you that seeking therapy is a strength in itself, and I would be honored to work with you as you learn about yourself and the world around you. There is no "right way" to discuss your concerns. I find that building a relationship is the most important part of the work. I work with all ages and have experience with using Play Therapy with children.
I am an advocate for self-love and self-acceptance. One of the hardest things to do in life is to love yourself. Life experiences can make self-love even more challenging. Self-love can be accomplished through discovery, exploration, and acknowledgment of certain barriers. These barriers may be low self-worth, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, or stressors. With therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy, I want to help in unlocking and removing those barriers.
In my therapy approach I believe that every technique we use should be catered to the client so that the therapy can be effective. I want to work collaboratively with my clients to help them along their therapy journey and the process of emotional healing.
I have experience in dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life changes and transitions. I want you to have a safe space to process your feelings so that we can overcome life's struggles together.

Mental and emotional wellbeing significantly impacts how we present and navigate in every aspect of life.
